Вопрос: Can a company sue me, 2 years later, for not paying an invoice, and can I sue them for damages for a sloppy job? 2 years ago I had electrical problems. The electrician who came out completely missed what was wrong. He assured me everything was fine, however the problem occurred again, within about a week, costing me over a thousand dollars in damages and loss of property as well as loss of pay from missing work. I received a general invoice approx. three months later. The invoice grouped together both visits and did not explain what work had been done or what exactly the problem had been. I sent a written request for a new invoice asking for a breakdown of what I was paying for. I never refused to pay the invoice, only requested a new one before issuing payment. I heard absolutely nothing for 2 years. Then I received a “final notice” in the mail claiming they had made numerous requests for payment. No one has ever tried to contact me in the last two years. This letter also threatens me with legal proceedings and fees if I don’t pay and payment is due within 1 week of when I received this notice. What I would like to know is if they have any legal grounds to come after me after 2 years? And like-wise do I have and legal ground to sue them for all the damages after this much time?
